A start of an era

A change for the better, or for the worst? The year 2023 was a total adventure. With all that wilderness and hardships, it was worth calling a rough ride. I heard a pastor once said, "a true heart of a believer is expose to the blessing and not the pain". And there, it perfectly quoted out the year 2023. There may be alot of vivid, dark moments in that year, but I did not forget questioning God, of what blessing did he sent. As christians, we learn to think that every pain would mean victory and blessing in the end, and that, there is a victory waiting on the other side of the tunnel.

"What's your new year's resolution?" They asked. I answered, "alot". It wouldnt be a perfectly structured new year without everyone asking you that statement. Then I was like, "huh, so what's my new year's resolution really? Is it for the better, or for the worst?". Ive learned alot from 2023, some needs changing, and some can stay as it is.

A core goal that I've always wanted to improve is to have more time with God. Back then, I've been so blinded by academics and stuffs that eventually I forget to put aside a time for God. I genuinely struggle with reading the bible. Often times I forget it, and it's really unhealthy and toxic for me, well atleast for my case. Whenever I want to read my bible, I couldn't hold a grip of it. It's truly a burden not keeping in touch of the Word.

Making friends isn't really what I'm best at. Many people have called and yet to call me social butterfly. But in reality, I'm just a dork whos having a hard time expanding my circle. I aspire to have friends that share the same interest as mine, but above all, a believer. Friends whom I can trust, friends who will pick up my stretcher. Friends who I can enjoy worshipping and praying. And friends who stay during warfare.

Some norms consider me as one of the brightest students, but I never really believed abd took heart of that. I may speak infront of crowds, but little did they know, it took me alot to finally step up and stand. I've always wanted to step out of my nutshell, but I couldn't really make a move and take chance for it. But this year, it will be different. Many has changed, and so have I. This year, productivity is what I want to adapt.

As I embark on the journey that 2024 has to offer, I've learned that being happy doesn't have to be linked with sin. Problems may come, but it was never fighting for God, it was fighting with God. I was once a person who never gives credit to the High above, but now, I'm living for Him and with Him. 2024, please be good to me.
